During these years M.A.R.E. has taken part in research more generically linked to the study of marine and coastal environments.

The skills acquired as part of biology, marine geology, oceanography, that intersecting with other socio-economic disciplines, have allowed us to make an effective contribution to major projects such as the ICZM - Integrated Coastal Zone Management, led forward from the Emilia-Romagna Region and the FARO project (Flexibility, Adaptability, Redirection of fishery operators), for which also environmental analysis were needed. The analisys were made by a broad partnership for development, composed of six provinces (Bari, Ferrara, Forlì-Cesena, Pesaro-Urbino, Rimini, Salerno), ten coastal municipalities and a wider European Partnership.
